Moving on!

Hi Folks

I was asked to make a retirement card for my hubby's boss last week. I was thinking decoupage; toppers i.e. clean, then hubby said 'do one of those inky technique things you do.' Well I certainly don't need much encouragement so I set to inking, stamping and embossing - here's what I came up with:

Distress ink background overstamped with cogs from Paper Artsy and Crackle from Creative Expressions. The topper was an image from the Steampunk stamp plate from Eco Green Crafts coated in a couple of layers of clear embossing powder to create a tile. A few additions 'a la Tim Holtz' and I had what I think is a retirement card with a difference.

Well that's all for now.

Journal Cover

Hi my fellow bloggers

I've decided to have a go at making a Journal to log different techniques to use as a reference guide when I get stuck for ideas.

So far I've only managed to decorate the cover, but am quite pleased with the result:

I used one of the Papermania Bookprint papers, distress stains, distress inks , WOW embossing powder and a touch of distress stickles. I added the white splodges tying to be 'arty' but have now decided that it looks like the bird has had an accident all over my cover :-) - oh well, I quite like the effect lol.

Must be going now.

Watering the Garden!

Hi Folks

I've had a busy weekend demoing; yesterday at Craft Central in Derby and today at Melbicks Garden Centre in Coleshill. I had lovely crafters stop by each day and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Anyhow, I wanted to share a card with you that I made ages ago but didn't post on here:

It's a Sarah Kay image coloured with Promarkers. I distressed the edges of the K&Co paper; used a Doo-Hickey fence die and Marianne Design flourish die; a Martha Stewart Monarch Butterfly punch and a Hero Arts sentiment.

Well must be off now.

Canvas Tea Party!

Hi Folks

I wanted to show you an altered canvas I made for one of my Design Objectives samples for the current promotion.
I dry brushed the canvas board with a couple of shades of pink acrylic paint and then dabbed through sequin waste with white paint for interest. The teacups and cupcakes (from the Lucy Cromwell Collection) were stamped onto tissue paper and coloured with brush markers. After cutting out, the images were applied to the board using Matt Medium - this adheres the tissue to the canvas and it seems to disappear and looks like it has been painted on directly. A little bit of stamping and embossing finishes the canvas off nicely!

Molly Blooms Card

Hi my fellow Bloggers

Hope you've all had a great Jubilee weekend. I spent a couple of days at St Albans at WOW Towers and then today I had a demo at Hobbycraft Cheltenham for their Jubilee Week event. I now need a holiday!

Anyhow I wanted to share a card I've made using a Molly Blooms stamp that's been hanging around for a while.

The papers are from the Cosmo Cricket 'Tea for Two' paper pack and the hearts and label are die-cut using Spellbinders dies - all available from Stampeezee.

There is a 25% Mid-Season Sale starting over on the Stampeezee site on the 6th June for one week - worth a look if you get a minute.

Well must be off now.

Thanks for stopping by.
